How very nice to see this website put up a home for wayward Overgrowers!
Some of you may remember me from the last several years as I've contributed a few things to the forum on water cloning and supercroppng. I'm also a former overgrow administrator and very much appreciate the thought, as will other OGers who happen across your forum.
hi, i didn't know about about the migration of overgrowers, you're the first one i've seen here so far .. well, what the hell, welcome to Grower and virtually to the Czech Republic. Isn't it a problem for you that hardly anyone on Grower.cz is writing in english?
i'm very sad about what happened to OG, hopefully all the information from it is not going to be lost.
That red liquid is what I call cherry oil and it's made from Isopropyl alcohol. I have a unique method and the results are pure as can be. No black stuff remaining.
Oh, thanks for the welcome everyone! I'll see if I can dig up some more oil pictures.
Like I said, I do it different from everyone. First soak your plant material in Isopropyl alcohol and drain the liquid through a filter like cheesecloth or a paper coffee filter. It will be black as coal as seen in the first picture
The next four pics show the evaporation of the alcohol over time. I use low heat, around 160f, and soon the red oil seperates from the black plant material.
The less of this black stuff n your red ocherry oil the better
Pour it off and dry it on glass. Scrape it out and smoke in a bowl or under glass. You can dry it to powder and add it to a joint. It's amazing!
hi, that's really a nice and easy way to extract 'the funny stuff'.
we also make red cherry oil (not me personally), but it's not very common. it's called 'hash oil' or 'honey oil' - the honey oil is a cleaner version, where the biological pigments are removed with active carbon. look here, maybe, but it's in czech: http://grower.cz/forum/showthread....&threadid=19828
well, until now, Grower was not intended as a widely international site, it was almost purely for czech and slovak people...
and could you please add a photo or something of how much herb do you soak in how much isopropylalcohol - for example to gain the quantity of oil comparable to the pictures above? i can see that you are using "F" and not "˚C", so i guess that you don't use the metric system - i'll better get some measure conversion tables
Greetings to all of you fellow Overgrowers...
Great pics smokingrav and nice to see you here REAPER ...dont forgett to switch the y in my nickname to make it OG like
I personally prefer the bublebag method for some nice hash rather than the Isopr. method...I think not only the taste is better but my mind is easier coz its pure nature
But there is no other way to make hash oil as far as I know...so I ll gonna try it soon
Here some 2 weeks old pic for inspiration... its bout 30 giiis
