So, I have a question about a new bulb I need. I'm on www.janca.cz and I'm looking for a 250W E40 bulb, but they have two...
výbojka SON-Tplus 250W E40 sodíková
and
výbojka SON-T 250W E40 sodíková
So, the plus one is a bit more expensive... but the site doesn't say ANYTHING about the difference between the two.. Is there a difference at all? Should I just go for the more expensive one?
And then another question... For the Metalhalogenidové blub, they again, have 3 with different names and I have no idea what the difference is...
1)výbojka HPI-PLUS 250W BU E40 halogenid
2)výbojka HPI-PLUS 250W BUP E40 halogenidová
3) výbojka HPI-T 250W E40 halogenid
I would recommend : Phillips Master Son-t PIA plus , it produces slightly more light in lumens than the plusless version and has longer lifetime.
For MH go for the HPI - Plus version, difference between BU and BUP is that the P stands for protected. MH tend to break to pieces on the end of their lifetime. So it is necessary to have the not protected bulb in some type of cooltube reflector, so when it would break, the parts wont contaminate the flowers.
one more question... I have been in growing stage for almost a month.. I think I have a few weeks to go, but I've been using a HPS. Is it worth to get the MH for this round, even if it will only be used in the few last weeks of growing? Or should I just wait until next harvest?
It really depends on personal favour. Some switch lamps (MH -> HPS) as soon as they switch to 12/12, others keep MH till the end of growth sprint in order to the plants dont stretch so much.
Plants like MH light for growth more, so if you plan stay some more time on 18/6, give it to them. They will reward you with thicker stems, shorter internodes and overall density / bushyness .
Good luck
HJ
PS: Will you open a thread about your growing here on grower.cz?
I actually haven't decided that yet... I didn't do it before because half the time I talk about my garden I'm stoned and didn't want to read Czech... I was on OG, but then it was closed down... So I started something on Grow Kind... You can see it here:
