Welcome in my diary!
As I wrote here I finaly started as I promised. Better late than never. Most recently I got a little bit busy due to my job, so I had to break my leg (it was an accident) to spare some time to cultivate some psychotropic biomass :)
First of all I’d like to thank to Sweedseeds for kind provision of seeds. This is my very first experience with seeds from seedbank. In all previous cases I planted only seeds given from friends or cuttings which I bought somewhere else. So I am glad that I can take advantage of this opportunity.
I already know I won't be able to finish this grow till the end of june (as stands written in rules). Sweetseeds and no other seedbank still don't offer any strain which is capable to provide satisfactory yield within 5 weeks :) So I'm going to keep growing in my own tempo and equally will chill my plants :)
Setup summary:
for current grow I chose two strains:
2x Jack 47 because Jack seems very promising!
2x Psicodelicia, because the name nicely harmonize with my nickname, moreover I love “speedy” sativa high :)
(In addition I received Speed Devil #2 seeds-autoflowering strain-which will be planted outdoors later after this competition ends, so I won't include it into this diary)
Box: 58x35x90 cm
I am practical and thrifty person, I always try to push cost downwards. So most of equipment is home made. Plants don't recognize if I spent 50 or 500 euro. Plants just give a fuck and so do I :D So I tried to reuse things, which I already had. E.g. the box itself came from an old fashioned piece of furniture - it was an bar for bottles of alcohol in an ancient times, when my parents were still young and thirsty :D I saved it, painted white color inside, bored some holes for cables and outgoing air and that's it. It doesn't look like the most beautiful growbox in universe, but works fine for years and plants don't complain.
Manually adjustable source of DC electricity can regulate 12V DC fans originated from old PC boxes and thus the velocity of passing air.
Enlightment: 26W fluorescent bulb then 150W HPS set
I traditionally use 150W hps lamp - this power regularly provides 100 (and more) grams of dry matter being enough for me and my closest friends. Proof instead of promises here, here and here :)
Fertilizers: BioBizz set
In past grow-rotations I used mostly plagron fertilizers. But this time I decided to try BioBizz (Grow/Bloom and some bloom booster), I also have some phytamin from previous years, so I'll keep spraying it time to time.
Soil: self-made mix with pinch of lime
So on 24th April I placed 2 seeds of Jack 47 and 2 seeds of Psicodelicia on cotton wool underlay into an improvised greenhouse made from former plastic transparent fast-food box. And after 24 hours the first Jack 47 germinated!
Rooting seeds will be then moved to paper flowerpots and placed into temporal high-tech "rooting box" made from paper box of wine :D enlightened by 26W fluorescent bulb. After some time plants will go into plastic terminal flowerpots with volume 3.5 litres, which will be placed in final grow box under HPS.
I wish for my plants a pleasant life and for me satisfying yield and particularly good taste.
So that's the plan for now – not to fuck it up :D

Everything is just fine..
No fertilization applied so far, only occasionally phytamin spraying.
Today I cut out apical sprouts, something like an early FIM.
Within few days the plants will be moved into terminal 3.5 L flowerpots, because roots definitely need more space.
Next step is to place them in the garden for 2 weeks - but only if weather will be suitable.. this "environmentally friendly-growing phase" takes advantage of natural enlightment, which is in late spring/early summer more favourable than 150W HPS.. |

There is some cold and cloudy weather passing from Atlantic ocean above my garden, so I skipped the outdoor phase a placed them directly under HPS into terminal flowerpots.
My grow box is located in a cellar and this is a little bit disadvantageous, becaouse the night temperatures decrease under optimum (approximately 15°C). But there is no possibility to place the box anywhere else and plants seems they can live with that. |

Everything goes well.. I cut tops using "FIM" method, with 50% success rate, it means 2 plants - 3 new tops after cutting, 2 plants - two new tops after cutting.
I'd like to switch it on flowering withing one or two weeks..
No fertilization applied so far, only phytamin time to time..
The shiny silver box on the right hand is a high-tech automated sensor (in radiation shield made of paper with aluminium foil) for air temperature and relative air humidity.
During next weekend I will place here some measured outputs regarding diurnal course of air temperature and relative air humidity..
