Some of you will be thinking which Mandala strain is good for outdoor in your area... here are our recommendations for northern climates:

SADHU: this is a very robust strain for hard outdoor conditions and some plants have excellent mold resistance.
Harvest time: end of September-1. week October

SPEED QUEEN: another good choice and easy to grow indica.

KALICHAKRA: this sativa has been tested outdoor up to 52° latitude. It is a strong plant and 50% plants are very mold resistant, while others can be sensitive to too much rain in the last 2 weeks of flowering. This is a great sativa to grow if the weather remains fairly good end of Sept. to mid October. Then you will have good yields.
Harvest time: mid October

In a really good and hot year (like 2003) you can grow any Mandala strain outdoor, because all our strains are very strong plants and perfect for surviving in nature or growing outdoor in pots.

Some tips for outdoor in northern climates:

1. For mold prevention: top (cut) the main shoot 1-2 times, this way you grow slimmer colas that let more air into the buds. Helps the buds to dry quicker from rain/high humidity.

2. Keep your plants healthy...mix good fertilizer into the soil in guerilla growing (guano, quality organic ferts from Neudorff, etc). In pots do not overfertilize (use only 15-20% of recommended dosage), buy quality soil (Compo Sana, etc).

3. Some of the problems with harvest dates come from too early planting. Flowering is controlled by a light-sensitive hormone. If you plant in April-beginning of May you get big plants...but you want big flowers and a safe harvest! These big plants take longer to adapt to the daylight getting less - it takes longer for them to build up the flowering hormone. If you plant mid May-June they have a shorter veg cycle and get used to days becoming shorter. The flowering hormone starts to build up and reaches the critical level quicker. This way the chances of faster flowering (and faster harvest) are higher. It is not a method that works with all plants, but in climates with a lot of rain/cold in Sept./Oct. it's better to try everything that supports quick harvest.
